Overview
Muzdalifah lies between Mina and Arafat. On the night after the Day of Arafah, Hajj pilgrims stop here, combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers and rest under the open sky, and many collect pebbles for the stoning at the Jamarat.
Significance
The Qur’an says: “But when you depart from Arafat, remember Allah at al-Mash’ar al-Haram” (Qur’an 2:198). Al-Mash’ar al-Haram is in Muzdalifah, and a mosque of that name stands there.
