Overview
Masjid Namirah stands on the western edge of the plain of Arafat. On the Day of Arafah the official Hajj sermon is delivered here, and Dhuhr and Asr are prayed together.
History
It is built in the area where, during the Farewell Hajj, the Prophet ๏ทบ stayed at Namirah and then delivered his sermon in Wadi Uranah before proceeding to the standing at Arafat. The mosque was first built in the early Abbasid period and has been greatly enlarged in modern times.
Important note
Part of the mosque (the front, qibla side) lies in Wadi Uranah, which is outside the boundary of Arafat. Signs inside the mosque mark the boundary, and pilgrims should make sure they stand within Arafat for the wuquf.

Visiting information
The mosque is normally opened mainly for the Day of Arafah. At other times it can usually be seen from outside on a Ziyarat tour.
