An Umrah journey from Pakistan has two halves: the flight, and everything that happens after you land. This guide covers which Pakistani cities have direct flights to Jeddah (JED) and Madinah (MED), what to sort out before you leave home, and how to get from the airport to your hotel, between Makkah and Madinah, to the Ziyarat sites and back to the airport for your flight home.

Direct flights from Pakistan’s main cities

Route listings we checked on 19 October 2026 show direct, non-stop flights to Jeddah from all five cities below, and fewer direct options to Madinah. The airlines named on these routes are Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudia, Airblue, AirSial, Fly Jinnah, flynas and flyadeal. Schedules change by season, so always confirm the current timetable with the airline itself.

CityDirect to Jeddah (JED)Direct to Madinah (MED)
Karachi (KHI)PIA, Saudia, Airblue, AirSial, Fly Jinnah, flynas, flyadealPIA, flynas, flyadeal
Lahore (LHE)PIA, Saudia, Airblue, AirSial, Fly JinnahPIA
Islamabad (ISB)PIA, Saudia, Airblue, AirSial, Fly JinnahPIA
Peshawar (PEW)PIA, Saudia; AirSial has announced flights from 17 November 2026None listed at the time of checking
Multan (MUX)PIA, Saudia, Airblue, AirSialPIA, AirSial

Flying time is roughly 4 to 6.5 hours depending on your city and airline, with Karachi the shortest. Pakistan is 2 hours ahead of Saudi Arabia, according to 24timezones, so once you land, give every pickup time, train time and hotel check-in in Saudi local time to avoid confusion.

Jeddah or Madinah first?

Flying into Jeddah puts you close to Makkah, which suits pilgrims who want to perform Umrah straight away. Flying into Madinah lets you begin with Masjid an-Nabawi and travel to Makkah later. Your choice also affects where and when you enter Ihram, so ask a qualified scholar or your group leader about Miqat before you fly — this guide covers travel and transport only.

Before you leave Pakistan

  • Use an approved Umrah company. In July 2026 Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs issued rules under the Hajj and Umrah Act 2024 saying only ministry-approved companies may provide Umrah services (ProPakistani). The ministry has also published a list of certified Umrah operators on its website and advised pilgrims to pay only into the company’s bank account and keep receipts (Arab News Pakistan).
  • Check your visa on official channels. Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has said that holders of all visa types are eligible to perform Umrah (Gulf News, October 2025). Confirm the requirements for your own visa with official sources — this guide is not visa advice.
  • Get your Nusuk permits. International pilgrims need an Umrah permit from the Nusuk app, where you book a date and time slot up to two months ahead (Gulf News guide). A permit to visit the Rawdah in Masjid an-Nabawi is also booked through Nusuk; the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah lists it as free and issued immediately after booking.
  • Pack with the transfer in mind. Count your suitcases before you book a car, and see our Umrah packing list for what to bring.

Arriving at Jeddah airport (JED)

The Haramain High-Speed Railway station at King Abdulaziz International Airport is directly connected to Terminal 1. According to the Pilgrim Experience Program (May 2026), the trip from the airport to Makkah takes approximately 45 minutes and to Madinah around one hour and 45 minutes.

Keep two things in mind. First, the train stops at the Haramain Makkah station, not at your hotel, so you still need a ride for the last leg. Second, luggage is limited: the Gulf News summary of the HHR baggage policy gives one large bag of up to 25 kg and 65 × 55 × 35 cm, plus one small personal item. Booking steps are in our guide to Haramain train tickets.

Families with children or elderly parents, groups, late-night arrivals and anyone with several suitcases often find a pre-booked car simpler: the driver meets you after arrivals and takes everyone straight to the hotel. Compare all the options in Jeddah Airport to Makkah: train, taxi or car.

Arriving at Madinah airport (MED)

Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport is about 20 km from the Prophet’s Mosque, and Saudipedia puts the drive at about 25 minutes. For pickup tips and the ways into the city, read Madinah airport to your hotel.

Travelling between Makkah and Madinah

You can take the Haramain train between the two cities or go by road. The train is fast, but you need a ride to and from each station and you are limited on luggage. A private car goes from hotel door to hotel door, which many families find easier with bags, prams or wheelchairs. We compare both in Makkah to Madinah: train or road.

Ziyarat and the trip home

Many pilgrims add a half-day of Ziyarat in each city. A private car lets your group stop at each site at its own pace — see our Makkah Ziyarat itinerary for a suggested route. On your last day, check your flight time in Saudi local time, allow plenty of time for traffic and airport queues, and book your airport ride in advance.
